Introduction to wheel throwing
Instructor led class that meets once a week on Tuesdays from 6PM to 7:30PM. This is a perfect pottery class for anyone new to ceramics or those looking for a refresher. This is a guided class but you will have the freedom and creativity to bring your ceramic vision to life while working in a small group with an instructor. This class focuses on wheel throwing and most people end up making a cup or bowl. If you have something specific you want to try, let the instructor know! What to expect:
- 10 min of Step by Step Instructor Demo
- 60 min Instructor guided wheel time
- 10 min cleanup
- 10 Min optional final pot decoration
- Pieces will be ready for pickup in 6 weeks

- Class intended for adults
Each artist will receive two 1-pound balls of clay to create their own unique pottery pieces on the wheel.
Your lesson fee includes:
- Instruction and use of studio tools
- One finished piece professionally fired and glazed
- Choice of 10 beautiful glaze colors
Can’t choose a favorite? Keep both! Your second piece can be fired and glazed for an additional $15.
Want a more hands-on finishing experience? For an additional $15, schedule a glazing session to paint your own pottery. You’ll have access to 50+ glaze colors and the opportunity to customize your piece exactly how you envision it.

What I'll take home
Expect to make one piece for glazing. The first is usually a practice piece and will get recycled

Wear comfy clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
What to expect
For classes, you will get two 1 lb balls of clay one of which will get glazed and fired. If you love both pieces, you can glaze the second for an extra $15
What is included
Use of tools and equipment and an apron will be provided
When can I pick up my finished work
Your work will be done 4 weeks after your class. It takes time for pieces to be fired, painted and fired again.
Can you promise my pottery will survive the kiln?
Unfortunately sometimes pieces are lost during firing. We will do everything we can to protect your pottery but cannot guarantee its survival.
Can I wheel throw with long nails?
Chances are slim. You might want to stick to hand building!
